Gautham Venugopalan - president and Education Program MastermindGautham Venugopalan is a graduate student in the UC-Berkeley/SF Joint Graduate Group in Bioengineering researching cell mechanics in the Fletcher Lab. He has been working with elementary school students through the Community in the Classroom program for three years and is on the steering committee. He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hullman.

Richard Novak - vice president and Science EnthusiastRichard Novak is a graduate student in Bioengineering at UCSF and UC Berkeley working in the Mathies Group on making microfluidic devices for single cell analysis. He received a B.S. in Biology from Emory University in 2007, where he played with flies and developed techniques for analyzing parasite dispersal. Richard founded Future Scientist to provide students in resource-poor areas with the encouragement and resources to fully experience the world we live in.

Frances Bell - Engineer in ResidenceFrances Bell graduated from Smith College in Massachusetts with a B.S. in Engineering Science. After a few years in the San Francisco Bay area working as an electrical engineer at Bechtel Corp. in Oakland, CA, she is now at Tufts University working on the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. Frances is an active member of Engineers Without Borders Appropriate Technologies Design Team and is pursuing sustainable design education as a career.

Tyson Kim - Medical Coordinator Par ExcellenceTyson Kim is a graduate student in UCSF/UCB Bioengineering and a medical student at UCSF. He works in the Rong Wang Group where he grows blood vessels. He received a B.S. in Physics from UCSD and has worked with Habitat for Humanity, the UCSD Student-Run Free Clinic, and UCSF REMEDY - a student organization dedicated to bridging health disparities abroad. Tyson is a geek and likes good causes.

Amudha Venugopalan - Multimedia and Designer ExtraordinaireAmudha Venugopalan is completing her senior year at Lake Forest College, where she is going for a degree in Music with a minor in Film Studies. She is also working as both a band manager and classical ensemble manager, a career she hopes to pursue full time post graduation.

Colleen Lynch - panama Coordinator
Colleen is a recent UC Berkeley School of Public Health graduate, where she received her MPH in Public Health Nutrition. Colleen has previous experience in managing volunteers for educational programs in New York City and the San Francisco Bay area and has also participated in a number of local food and nutrition community projects. She is currently working with the UN Development Programme in Panama City.

amador goodridge - program consultantAmador has experience working in hospitals, clinics, and health centers within Panama. Also, he workedwith international and local research institutes and collaborated with governmental organizations and NGO's on scientific capacity building. Additionally, he had taught microbiology and molecular diagnosis courses in public and private universities nationwide. He is currently a researcher at INDICASAT.
