Our Impact


  • Clean Water Access Initiative provides over 1,000 Panamanian high school students with access to chlorinated water.
  • Stronger dam design enabled school to stay open when most other buildings lacked running water after a flood.
  • 700+ chlorination kits distributed in Costa Arriba region in the province of Colón in Panama.​
  • Design for Impact Competition trained 30+ students to develop solutions for their home towns.
  • 21 participants in the Program in Sustainable Design.​
  • Participants designed 8 new solutions to existing needs in Portobelo, Panama.
  • Trained 5 students to regularly test water contamination and report data.
  • Reached out to 200+ Portobelo community members using hands-on science, health, and engineering lessons.
  • High school students won 1st place in the Colon science fair with a water purification and analysis project and 3rd place for developing a forced-air composting method that let them go to the national level.
  • Greater awareness of health risks from contaminated water based on surveys over 3 years.
